Incredible Weight Loss Myths Exposed! Feature layout and concept for Runner's World, featuring the mythical and lovable Bigfoot. We ran more service stories in Runner’s World than I could count, so I worked really hard to make each one unique. If pressed, I would say the most creative execution was for a story called “Incredible Weight Loss Myths Exposed,” which called into question long-accepted diet strategies like “Mini-meals are better than three hearty ones.” A straight-forward service story really, except for the “myth” part– which was the bit I ran with. My concept was to use a mythical creature (in this case, Bigfoot) all decked out in gear to act out the list of myths. I got straight on the phone with photographer Gregg Segal and we brainstormed a ton of ideas that resulted in a really fun and ambitious feature with a fresh and surprising twist.
